Dynamic Message Signs

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) are electronic signs on the highway that can change the message they display.

With more than 100 DMS deployed along our District Six roadways, these devices allow traffic managers at the SunGuide® Transportation Management Center (TMC) to broadcast real-time traffic conditions to help drivers learn about upcoming delays. DMS also display safety messages several times a year to supplement statewide safety campaigns.

TMC operations staff work with partner agencies to coordinate comprehensive message plans and keep motorists informed about travel lane blockage information, travel times, scheduled construction activities and special events.

DMS are available to provide our motorists with valuable information 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The SunGuide TMC is committed to managing and operating this service to optimize traffic conditions and help motorists get to where they need to go safer, and more efficiently.
